Ridiculous – Van Basten condemns performance by Burna Boy at Champions League final

Former Ajax and AC Milan legend, Marco van Basten, has slammed the Union of European Football Associations, UEFA, for the alleged “ridiculous” kickoff show before the Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan.

DAILY POST reported that Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy headlined the kickoff show alongside Brazilian star, Anitta in Istanbul, on Saturday night.

However, the Dutchman said it was “madness” that the show happened, adding that the final ceremony should have been all “about football.”

He spoke on Z Sports’ Match Of The Day programme.

He said, “It’s ridiculous that this show is taking place. Why not do it before the warm up?

“It should be about these footballers, about football. It happens at the World Cup too.

Ridiculous.”
