Rivers 2023 election: Tonye Cole know fate in Nov 24

The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed 24th of November, 2022 to deliver judgment in a suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party against the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Tonye Cole and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Emmanuel Obile, gave the adjournment after counsels representing the parties argued and adopted their final written addresses on the originating summons.
The PDP had approached the court to direct INEC not to recognize Tonye Cole as the governorship candidate of APC claiming that Tonye-Cole is not qualified following his dual citizenship.
The PDP also claimed that the delegates’ election that brought in Cole did not follow due process.
