Ronaldo: Owen Hargreaves gives reason Ten Hag punished Marcus Rashford

Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves has noted manager Erik ten Hag had to discipline Marcus Rashford to show he is consistent with his disciplinary measures at the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo suffered similar punishment under Ten Hag before his contract was finally terminated in November.
Rashford did not start for Manchester United against Wolves on Saturday, with the England star dropped on the bench.
The 24-year-old was kept out of the starting XI due to an ‘internal disciplinary’ issue
Rashford, who is Manchester United’s leading scorer this season, had to come off the bench in the second half to score the only goal of the match.
“You know with everything that has happened with Cristiano Ronaldo you have to stay consistent. I think that the message here is not personal against Rashford,” Hargreaves said on Premier League Production.
“It’s the fact that this is the best thing for the group and Manchester United as a whole that people follow instructions. He’s in charge and you have to follow him obviously.
“Dropping Marcus Rashford was a big risk because he is their best player. But Ten Hag makes some big calls and he will continue to make them whether it’s Harry Maguire or Cristiano Ronaldo or Marcus Rashford. He’ll continue to make some big calls.”
