Senator Akpan facilitates release of prisoner, donates to Ikot Ekpene Correctional Centre as campaign hits Etinan

The senator representing Uyo senatorial district, Senator Bassey Akpan, has facilitated the release of an inmate from the Ikot Ekpene correctional centre in Akwa Ibom.

Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, popularly known as OBA, through his lawyers, facilitated the release of Mr Ufon-Obong Sunday Inokon after more than two years of incarceration.

Similarly, Senator Akpan, who the governorship candidate of the Young Democratic Party, YPP, om Akwa Ibom State, donated medical support to Ikot Ekpene Correctional Centre to ease the medical concerns of inmates.

His wife, Pastor Mrs Imabong Bassey Albert, who presented the medical items on behalf of Senator Akpan to the management of the correctional Centre, said it was a gesture to assist the inmates in their various medical needs.

Meanwhile, the YPP gubernatorial campaign team stormed Etinan LGA over the weekend.

The team toured Etinan Urban I, II & III with the message that Akwa Ibom State will soon come into its finest hours.

The well-attended rally was led by Akpan’s running mate, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Asuquo Amba (Rtd) and other leaders of the party.

Also in attendance was Pastor Mrs Imabong Bassey Albert, wife of the governorship hopeful, Apostle Nyeneime Eno Andy, YPP chairman in Akwa Ibom and other candidates of the party.
