Serie A: Osimhen nominated for Napoli’s best goal, assist award for 2022

Victor Osimhen is in the running for Napoli’s best goal and assists award for 2022.

The Parthenopeans released the list of nominees on their official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Osimhen’s superb strike in the 1-0 away win against AS Roma in October was nominated among four others.

The 23-year-old skipped past Roma defender, Chris Smalling before unleashing a thunderous shot past Rui Patricio from a difficult angle.

Giovanni Simeone, Piotr Zielinski, Khivicha Kvaratskhelia and Eljif Elmas are the other players nominated for the award.

Osimhen also got mentioned in the assist category.

The Nigeria international set up Elmas for the winning goal in the 2-1 away victory against Atalanta on November 5 at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo.

The striker will battle Franck Zambo Anguissa, Mario Rui Kvaratskhelia and Elmas for the award.

He has scored nine goals in 11 league appearances for Napoli this season.
