SOS: CERTIFICATE FORGERY SAGA:SAVE NIGERIA FROM DISGRACE

Background

CHAPTER VI, PART 1, SECTION 137(1)(J) CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, 1999 (As Amended) Says: (1) A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if -…

(j) he has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

It is believed that upholding justice in an impartial and fair manner is essential for the stability and progress of Nigeria. It is only through a strong commitment to the rule of law that Nigeria can become a united and prosperous nation.

Matters Arising

The recent development in the post elections litigation has taken a new twist that could rewrite the history of Nigerians. From the established facts as revealed by the Chicago State University papers, it reinforces the already well known fact in the public domain that the Bola Tinubu CSU Certificate is a forgery of the Original. There is therefore no gain saying, that Tinubu is in breach of Section 137(1)(j) CFRN, 1999 (As Amended).

What Alhaji Atiku wants Nigerians to know

It is important to understand that the essence of H.E, Atiku Abubakar’s USA court subpoena, was not to establish if Tinubu attended the CSU perse; but to establish by valid legal authentication, if indeed, CSU is the author and issuer of certificate Tinubu presented.

As we all know, one can attend an institution but still fake its certificate. Tinubu’s attendance of CSU is not the issue in dispute nor a constitutional requirement.

What the Constitution says
The wordings of the constitution are very clear and unambiguous. It says, ‘a person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if …
(j) he has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

This is different from, he has not attended an institution of learning to obtain a certificate. This was the issue at stake before the Prediential Election Petition Tribunal and is the issue at stake on appeal to the Supreme Court.

Our submission

“We believe that it is in the best interest of the Nigerian people for all political leaders to act in accordance with the highest standards of integrity and transparency. We call on all stakeholders to respect the rule of law, and to demonstrate their commitment to the principles of democracy.”

As a group of Nigerian political enthusiasts, we urge the Supreme Court to uphold justice in an impartial and fair manner, in accordance with the Constitution and the rule of law.

The CSU papers were required mainly to confirm the certificate presented by Tinubu to INEC. A fact the institution has cleverly excused itself from by saying,’It cannot locate Tinubu’s certificate within its archives.’

Therefore, we call on the Supreme Court to act with integrity and impartiality, and to serve justice in the best interest of all Nigerians.”

Conclusion

We know that this is a challenging time for Nigeria, but we are confident that, by working together with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) we can create a better future for all.

I seize this opportunity to honour my leader and principal, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for being a patriotic Nigerian and the only Presidential Candidate who played by the Electoral Rules, for being a true democrat, leader and hero that has saved democracy.

I am proud to support His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who has consistently demonstrated his patriotism and commitment to democracy through his actions. Moreso, he has remained peaceful and calm for the law to take it’s cause.

We believe that unity, transparency, and accountability are the keys to our success, together, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for generations to come.”

Long Live UN4PDP!

Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Hon. Mina Horsfall
National President,
United Nigeria for PDP (UN4PDP)
