There’ll be efficiency in government expenditure under Tinubu administration – Edun

Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, says there will be an emphasis on efficiency in government expenditure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Edun disclosed this on Friday while highlighting the focus of Tinubu’s 8-Point agenda.

He noted that there will be transparency in government’s activities to boost public confidence.

He added that the government would block all revenue linkages.

“To gain and build public trust, there will be an emphasis on efficiency in government expenditure and effective debt management. So that borrowing will be linked to the return on investment.

“The key is to increase revenue so that the government will have enough funding to stabilize the economy, not by increasing taxes necessarily but by bringing greater efficiency.

“To cut linkage and to maximize the legitimate revenue that should come to the government”, he said.
