Transfer: Cavani’s contract terminated, new club revealed

Edinson Cavani is set to join Boca Juniors after his contract with Valencia was terminated.

The 36-year-old will join the Brazilian club as a free agent and sign a two-year deal.

This was revealed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

Romano tweeted: “Edinson Cavani to Boca Juniors, here we go! Verbal agreement completed on deal valid until December 2024.

“Cavani has accepted conditions of the agreement as he’s leaving Valencia on free transfer, as reported yesterday.

“Contracts to be signed soon.”

Cavani joined Valencia only one year ago, after his deal at Manchester United expired, but has struggled to hit top form in Spain amid a number of injury issues.

The Uruguay striker was able to manage five top-flight goals last season.
