Transfer: It’ll hurt Arsenal, Chelsea bullied them – Agbonlahor reacts Mudryk’s signing

Chelsea has been accused of ‘bullying’ Arsenal following the Blues’ latest deal for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, a former Aston Villa skipper, accused the west London side of financially bullying other clubs.

Mudryk was a top target for Mikel Arteta in January and the Gunners thought they were on the verge of signing the Ukrainian for £80m.

Arsenal was confident the Ukraine international would complete his move in time for next weekend’s clash against Manchester United.

But the Blues have hijacked the deal, agreeing a stunning £97m with Shakhtar Donetsk for the 22-year-old.

He has reportedly signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge and has flown to London for his medical on Sunday.

“With this transfer, Chelsea has bullied Arsenal, they have financially bullied them,” the former Aston Villa captain told talkSPORT.

“Arsenal were maybe going to give him £100,000 or £150,000-a-week, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea offered him £250,000 or £300,000-a-week!

“It’s going to hurt Arsenal and it’s going to hurt Arsenal fans.”
