Transfer: Jorge Mendes not involved in Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo’s longstanding agent Jorge Mendes was not involved in his move to Al-Nassr on Friday.

According to MARCA, Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr was overseen by his personal manager Ricky Regufe.

Regufe, who previously worked as a marketing manager for Nike, played a big part in Ronaldo’s partnership with the sportswear brand in 2003 following his move from Sporting CP to Manchester United.

Mendes, on the other hand, has represented Ronaldo for almost two decades.

The report added that Ronaldo and Mendes’ relationship had been strained recently after the forward’s Manchester United exit in November.

Recall that Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr on Friday evening, bidding goodbye to European football after spending more than two decades playing in Europe.

The 37-year-old will earn a base salary of €90 million annually with the Saudi Arabia side.
