U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles going for victory against Egypt – Bosso

Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso reckoned his team is condemned to beat Egypt in their Group A encounter at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

The seven-time champions started their campaign on a disappointing note going down to a 1-0 defeat against the Cubs of Senegal.

Defeat to the Young Pharaohs could see the Flying Eagles exit the competition at the group stage.

That would also see the team miss out on a place at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.

Bosso insisted that his boys are fully ready for the task ahead and will give their best against the Egyptians.

“I want people to know that the spirit is very high, though the morale was down after the first game; we as coaches have to raise the spirit of the players,” Bosso told reporters.

“I think losing the first match is not something that cannot be amended, it was even good that we lost at the beginning than lose in the end.”

The game at the Cairo International Stadium will kick off at 6 pm Nigerian time.
