UCL: Final against an Italian team not the best gift – Guardiola on Inter clash

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has claimed that playing a Champions League final against an Italian team “is not the best gift”.

Guardiola was speaking to BT Sport after their 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the semi-final second leg.

City progressed with a 5-1 aggregate after the first leg ended 1-1 in Spain.

The Premier League champions will now face Inter Milan who eliminated AC Milan in the final.

“A final against an Italian team is not the best gift, honestly. They are competitive.

“This victory will get a lot of compliments but we have time to prepare mentally,” Guardiola said.
