Weather spurred us to victory against Sunshine Stars – Enyimba boss, Finidi

Enyimba manager, Finidi George believes that the conducive weather atmosphere at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena played a key role in his side’s victory against Sunshine Stars.

The Aba giants defeated Sunshine Stars 3-0 to reclaim top position on the table.

Forward, Chijoke Mbaoma’s brace and Ikenna Cooper’s precise free kick goal was enough for the People’s Elephant to record their second victory of the Super Six playoffs.

Finidi said his players had enough energy to play an high tempo game because of the favourable weather..

“This is our first time of playing at night in the NPL Super Six playoffs,” he disclosed to DAILY POST in a post match interview.

“The weather really favoured us as we decided to step up the tempo of our game which forced our opponent to make mistakes.

“That’s how we got the first and second goal,” he added.

Enyimba will take on Rivers United on Sunday in their final match of the NPL Super Six playoffs.
