World Cup: Brazil manager, Tite hits out at “evil lies” over Gabriel Jesus’ injury

Brazil coach, Tite, has hit out at rumours that Gabriel Jesus played against Cameroon with an injury.

The Arsenal striker suffered a knee injury during the 1-0 defeat last Friday that ended his World Cup.

There are reports that the injury could also put him out for up to three months.

Speculations, however, claimed Jesus had reported a problem before going out to play.

But during his press conference ahead of their last-16 clash against South Korea, Tite addressed the rumours.

He said: “I don’t like hearing lies out there – these are evil lies. They are put about by people who want to do bad things for other people. At no time do we play for victory by putting players in peril.

“Arsenal have a great medical department – we have a great medical department.

“We are ethical. We are very sorry for Gabriel. But this never happened.”
