After Weeks of Controversy, Hon. Gbenga ‘Agbelebu’ Abiola Secures APC Ticket for Agege Constituency I

After weeks of uncertainty and controversy surrounding the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, former Vice Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Oluwagbenga Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, has officially secured the party’s ticket to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Agege Constituency I.

Abiola’s emergence followed a prolonged dispute over the primary election results, which generated intense political tension within the party in Agege. The controversy stemmed from conflicting claims over the outcome before the Lagos State APC leadership eventually resolved the matter and affirmed Abiola as the party’s authentic candidate.

His confirmation has brought an end to weeks of suspense among party members and supporters, paving the way for the APC to begin preparations for the forthcoming general election.

Following his emergence, Abiola appealed to party faithful, supporters and political stakeholders to put the primary election behind them and embrace peace, reconciliation and unity.

He urged his supporters to refrain from insults, mockery and attacks against fellow aspirants and their supporters, stressing that every contestant contributed to the growth and strength of the APC in Agege.

“The contest is over. This is the time to unite as one family and work together for the progress of Agege, our great party and the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Abiola said.

The APC candidate expressed confidence that a united party would remain formidable at the polls and deliver quality representation to the people of Agege Constituency I if elected.
