Agoye thankful despite Sunshine Stars defeat to Bendel Insurance

Sunshine Stars’ head coach, Edith Agoye, has said Bendel Insurance proved to be a difficult opponent in their 1-0 defeat on Sunday.

Agoye said their target from the game was a draw.

He commended the Edo State Government for their support following the armed robbery attack on their way to the matchday 12 clash against Bendel Insurance.

“We want to appreciate the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy Philip Shaibu for all they have done for us since the attack,” he said in a post-match interview.

“The Governor sent his people to come and see us and he promised to offset our medical bills. The deputy Governor also came to see us and gave us relief too. We are grateful. They made us feel at home.”

Sunshine Stars currently occupy 11th position on the table.
