Customs, FRSC Deepen Partnership In Oyo To Boost Security, Public Safety

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have strengthened their collaboration in Oyo State as both agencies moved to reinforce operational synergy aimed at enhancing national security, road safety, and efficient service delivery.
The renewed partnership came to the fore on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, when the Oyo State Sector Command of the FRSC paid a courtesy visit to the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
Leading the FRSC delegation, Sector Commander Corps Commander Kehinde Sunday Dahunsi described the visit as part of efforts to deepen the long-standing relationship between both agencies and promote stronger inter-agency cooperation in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.

Dahunsi and his team were received by the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, alongside members of the command’s management team.
Speaking during the visit, the FRSC Sector Commander commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its strategic role in protecting the nation’s borders against the influx of prohibited and dangerous items capable of threatening public health and national security.
He also praised the Service for facilitating legitimate trade while maintaining strong enforcement operations, assuring the Customs Command of the FRSC’s continued support through improved collaboration, operational synergy, and joint capacity-building programmes.
According to him, stronger cooperation between both agencies remains vital in achieving safer roads, enhanced security, and more effective public service delivery.
Responding, Deputy Comptroller Adewole appreciated the FRSC leadership for the visit and acknowledged the critical contributions of the Corps toward reducing road accidents and safeguarding lives across the country.

He stressed the importance of sustained institutional collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and the FRSC, noting that both agencies share a common responsibility in ensuring national safety and development.
The Acting Customs Area Controller further reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with sister agencies to improve operational efficiency and strengthen public confidence in government institutions.
The visit is seen as another step toward consolidating inter-agency cooperation among security and regulatory bodies, particularly at a time when collaboration is increasingly viewed as essential to addressing national security and public safety challenges.
