EPL: Guardiola names shock team to finish in top four

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has warned his players that one top team could lose out of the top four places because of Newcastle United.

The Magpies are enjoying a fine start to the 2022/2023 season and currently sit in third place.

Eddie Howe’s men have 32 points from their first 15 fixtures and are only three points behind City.

Guardiola has told his players they cannot be complacent as they chase leaders Arsenal who are five points clear.

“The moment we believe, ‘OK, four titles in five years, we don’t need to do it’, then we have no chance. No chance even for the top four.

“Newcastle are there and nobody expected it, so it’s one team less for the Champions League and that can be us,” Guardiola said.
