Court Hearing in Idowu Keshinro Murder Case Adjourned Due to Suspect Absence
The ongoing murder trial of Idowu Keshinro, a staff member of Ikosi-Ejirin Local Government, was adjourned today at the Ogba Magistrate Court due to the absence of several key suspects. The hearing, previously adjourned to November 26th, 2024, was postponed until Thursday, November 28th, 2024. The suspects, identified as Mukaila Salau (AKA Actor), Tiyamiyu Ahmed, Wasiu Suleimon, Bemi, and Ibrahim Ekemode, failed to appear in court. A court official explained to the presiding judge that a scheduling error was responsible for their absence. The judge, however, ordered the suspects’ mandatory presence at the adjourned hearing. Failure to produce the accused will likely result in further sanctions.
Keshinro was brutally murdered in April 2024. Before his death, he recorded a video identifying some of his attackers. While several arrests have been made, the case remains ongoing, with several suspects still at large. The Keshinro family has publicly expressed concern regarding alleged attempts by the arrested suspects to influence the proceedings, raising fears of potential interference from higher authorities. The family continues to advocate for justice and a thorough investigation into the matter. The court’s decision to adjourn until Thursday underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for a complete and impartial judicial process.
