Lagos: Police arrest fraudsters who followed victim to bank

The Lagos State Police Command has busted a gang of fraudsters after they followed their victim to the bank.

Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin informed that the incident occured last Friday at about 3:50pm.

The PRO said a cashier noticed a 64-year-old customer fidgety, receiving repeated calls and was in a hurry to withdraw N600,000.

The worker then asked what the problem was but the woman told her she would die if she talked.

A team of officers from the Ogudu Division responded to a distress call and discovered three men waiting outside.

Uche Awaize, 45, and Osadebe Aigbe, 35, were arrested while the third suspect bolted.

Hundeyin said the fraudsters initially collected N90,000 from the woman. The police are searching for the other gang member.
