Oshodi APC Leaders Appeal to Male Aspirants to Support Sole Female House Of Representatives Contender

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government have appealed to the male aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives seat in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I to support and yield the party’s ticket to the only female aspirant in the race, Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako.

The appeal was made during the aspirant’s consultation visit to party leaders, held at the residence of the apex leader of the party in the local government, Chief (Mrs.) Abena Badejoko.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Agbabiaka Abosede stated that Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako possesses the political experience, loyalty, and capacity required to effectively represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

“I believe that, if the male contestants allow the female aspirant, Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako to represent Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I, she will perform excellently well.

A female candidate should be given the opportunity to lead as well,” she said.

Also speaking, High Chief Elder Olufemi Akeju, expressed confidence in Hon. Daramola-Salako’s legislative potential, describing her as a capable, humble, visionary, and experienced politician, with the qualities needed to provide effective representation for the constituency.

Chief Akeju further noted that Hon. Daramola-Salako was only the second aspirant to officially visit the party leaders for consultations, describing the move as a demonstration of respect, humility, and leadership maturity, expected from serious aspirants.

Earlier in her remarks, Hon. Foluke Daramola-Salako, frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat, alongside her husband, Hon. Olukayode Salako, seized the opportunity to share details of her over 29 years of political involvement and long-standing relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC political family.

She also reiterated her commitment to attracting meaningful development, empowerment programmes, and quality representation, for the people of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I, if elected into office.

In her response, the party Apex Leader, Chief (Mrs.) Abena Badejoko, offered heartfelt prayers for the aspirant and commended her courage in emerging as the first-ever female aspirant, seeking to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Other party leaders, present at the meeting included Elder Sunday Akinwale (Deputy Apex Leader), Hon. Bamidele Ogunsakin, Chief Ipadeola Lawson, Hon. Kabiru Oriowo, Elder Moses Ogundimu, Elder M.A. Salako, Hon. J.D. Ojo, Hon. Mumuni Olori (Secretary) and others.
