The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, has expressed delight over the unification of the Mandate Groups in the local government, describing the development as a significant step toward strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Mandate Group, a caucus within the ruling APC, had previously been divided into two factions in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government. One faction was led by the late Prince Samuel O. Aina, the immediate past Apex Leader, while the other was under the leadership of Comrade Dele Ogunshakin.

In a bid to present a formidable front and galvanise collective efforts toward the re-election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, both factions have now resolved to come together as one united group.

This resolution was made known when leaders of the two factions paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman on Sunday to formally inform him of the development. Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Apex Leader, Chief Sunday Akinwale, who led the delegation, stressed the importance of unity within the party. According to him, “It is imperative for all groups to come together, especially as we prepare for the re-election of Asiwaju in 2027. The two Mandate Groups are now one, presenting a united and formidable front.”

Receiving the delegation, Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof commended the leadership of both groups for what he described as a noble, timely, and politically sound decision. He noted that the unification aligns perfectly with his long-standing advocacy for unity, oneness, and brotherhood within the local government.

The Chairman said, “I am very happy to receive this news. It aligns totally with what I stand for and have been preaching: oneness, unity, and brotherhood in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government. The Mandate Groups have taken the lead, and this serves as a clarion call to others who are still divided to return to the mainstream. All hands must be on deck for the re-election of our father. We are ready to work with everyone for the success of the coming elections.”

Also present at the meeting were Oba Jimoh Adebayo, the Olu of Imedu Nla, Mowe; Hon. Rasheed Obasa, Leader of the House; Hon. Mayowa Alakija, Oshodi-Isolo Education Secretary, LGEA; Chief Akeju, member of the Apex Body; Hon. (Barr.) Kayode Tinubu, former Vice Chairman; Hon. Biola Oladipupo, former SLG; Hon. Bose Agbabiaka; Alhaja Kasali; Hon. Dokunmu; and a host of others.
