Police rescue two kidnap victims in Delta, recover live cartridges, others
A combined team of security operatives, comprising the Anti-Cult Unit, SIB Unit, and the local vigilante groups, led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Oghara Division in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, CSP Olasunkanmi Musiliu, have rescued two kidnap victims unhurt in Oghara-Ugbenu link road in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of the State.
The incident occurred on the 31st of August 2023, at about 11:30 am, DAILY POST reports.
The police also recovered four live cartridges, one Tecno Spark phone, one ATM card, and three SIM cards of different telecommunication networks from the scene.
The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Wale Abass, confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
The police image maker said the kidnap victims have reunited with members of their families.
According to him, the kidnap suspects abandoned the victims who were allegedly abducted at the Oghara-Ugbenu link road and escaped.
DSP Edafe said, “Regardless of the victim’s rescue, efforts are on top gear to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspected kidnappers.”
