Qatar 2022: Hakimi reacts to Ramos’ World Cup snub

Paris Saint-Germain full-back, Achraf Hakimi, has posted a tweet in support of his teammate, Sergio Ramos after it emerged that the veteran Spain centre-back would not be called up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Spain’s head coach, Luis Enrique, on Friday announced his 26-man squad for the World Cup and did not include Ramos in the list.

Spain have been drawn in Group E in the tournament and will play Costa Rica, Germany and Japan.

However, Hakimi, who has an excellent relationship with Ramos, publicly showed his support for the former Real Madrid captain after Spain’s World Cup squad was announced.

The Morocco international, in a tweet via his Twitter account, branded Ramos as the best defender in the world.

“Sergio Ramos, the best defender in the world,” Hakimi’s tweet read.

Both Hakimi and Ramos signed for PSG in the summer of 2021.
