Ramadan/Lent: Sola Osolana Foundation Supports 500 Residents with Food Distribution in Agege

Residents of Agege and Orile-Agege areas of Lagos State have benefitted from a humanitarian outreach organized by the Sola Osolana Foundation as part of activities marking the ongoing Ramadan and Lent seasons.

The initiative, which combined a Ramadan lecture with the distribution of essential food items, saw no fewer than 500 residents receive free “Food Boxes” containing staple items such as rice, beans, and yam. The event drew community members, religious leaders, and stakeholders who commended the foundation’s effort in alleviating the burden of the fasting period.

Speaking during the event, the founder of the foundation, Hon. Sola Osolana, described this year’s outreach as particularly significant, emphasizing its dual purpose of spiritual upliftment and material support for the people.

According to him, “This year’s Ramadan lecture was a special one. We ensured that no fewer than 500 residents of Agege and Orile-Agege benefited from free food boxes to support them during this fasting period.”

Hon. Osolana further noted that the initiative aligns with broader national aspirations, adding that the outreach was also in support of the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly as discussions around his 2027 re-election bid continue to gather momentum.

Community members expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the intervention came at a critical time when many households are grappling with economic challenges. Beneficiaries described the food items as timely relief that would go a long way in supporting their families during the fasting season.

Religious leaders at the event also used the opportunity to preach unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, highlighting the shared values between Ramadan and Lent as periods of sacrifice, reflection, and charity.

The Sola Osolana Foundation has, over time, been involved in various community development and welfare initiatives across Agege Local Government, reinforcing its commitment to grassroots empowerment and social support.
