Real Madrid: He has same characteristics – Ancelotti names Modric’s replacement at Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, has named Dani Ceballos as the player to replace veteran midfielder, Luka Modric at Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti said Ceballos has the same characteristics as Modric, adding that the former Arsenal star is intelligent.

The former Chelsea and Everton coach stated this at his pre-match press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga tie with Valencia on Thursday night.

Modric’s current contract with Real Madrid will expire at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old, who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2012, is yet to sign a new contract with Los Blancos.

“Ceballos has the same characteristics as Modric,” Ancelotti said.

“He likes to have the ball, he is intelligent and smart. He is in top physical condition. He is confident and has a great personality. He can replace Modric.”
