Transfer: Why Adana Demirspor signed Onyekuru on permanent deal – Sancak

Adana Demirspor President, Murat Sancak, has revealed the reason why the Turkish Super Lig club signed Henry Onyekuru on a permanent contract.

Onyekuru moved to Adana Demirspor on loan from Greek Super League club, Olympiacos last summer.

The move was, however, made permanent this week.

The Blue Lightnings paid €3.5m to Olympiacos, with the forward signing a three-year contract.

“We had to take up the option (to buy Onyekuru permanently). That was contained in our agreement that we do so should we qualify to play in Europe,” Sancak told the club’s official website.

The 26-year-old scored eight goals and registered two assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Adana Demirspor last season.
