Transfer: Why Brentford’s David Raya shouldn’t join Arteta’s team – Ex-Arsenal star Groves

Former Arsenal star Perry Groves has told Brentford goalkeeper David Raya not to join Arsenal this summer.

He said this is because the Gunners already have an established goalkeeper in the form of Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is said to be interested in signing Raya, who is rated at around £40 million.

The Gunners are looking for someone to provide some competition to Ramsdale for the No. 1 jersey.

Raya, 27, has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich as a replacement for Manuel Neuer.

Grove told talkSPORT: “David Raya, no way would he go to Arsenal because Aaron Ramsdale is the established No. 1, and David Raya has been so brilliant for Brentford.

“Raya wouldn’t go there to be a number two to see if he could oust Aaron Ramsdale, would he? He hasn’t got that time in his career.”
