The award was presented at the Agip Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, during a one-day International Human Rights Day Conference marking the 77th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year’s conference, themed “Corruption and Human Rights: The Hidden Cost of Bad Governance,” brought together legal minds, scholars, and young advocates to examine the link between accountability and fundamental freedoms.

In a congratulatory message, Mrs. Funke Loko, Esq., writing on behalf of the Editorial Committee of the 2025 Human Rights Essay Competition, praised Jeremiah’s work as “insightful, creative, and a clear reflection of hard work.”

Winners and runners-up across all categories received awards for their outstanding contributions, reinforcing the NBA Lagos Branch’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of human rights thinkers and advocates.
